Sunday 5/4

Rest Day

Hey guys, if you could just comment on this post that would be awesome. I just want to get a feel for where everyone is including what is working, what isn't, etc. Let me know of any progress and PR's you have hit, or of any concerns you may have. I will shape the programming accordingly. Thanks!

  1. Sorry for not posting last week, but I was sick again. It makes me wonder if maybe volume could be an issue for me. It doesn't necessarily feel like it during a workout, but it seems as though I'm just wearing myself thin. And as soon as I starting getting back into the swing of things, I get sick again. So I feel like I am only trying to work back to where I left off and not really making any gains. Right before I got sick last Friday, I hit my old 1RM deadlift for two reps. I was pretty happy about that. I tried to get a new 1RM that day, but just couldn't.

  2. I have taken the last week and a half off. Hurt my back doing a DL. My own fault, think I did not warm up enough. Have still done some things outside of CF, but no where near the volume. Will start posting again, as I hope to be back in this week.

  3. Let's see...I've posted about most of my PRs. Got a new snatch PR about two weeks ago at 125#, then got a new hang snatch PR at 130# on Friday. My MUs and pull-ups are improving. My DL continues to be a struggle. The hardest part for me is those first few inches. If I can budge it, I can usually get it. I hit a Back Squat PR of 200# pretty recently and a clean of 165#, so I'm making progress. I feel like my metcon is lacking a bit, but not because of your programming, more because of our shift to team training the last few weeks at Backcountry. I think I'll be doing my own thing the next few weeks because I don't need to keep doing the Team Regional workouts over and over the next few weeks, it won't help me.

I'm just struggling finding balance lately - I need to spend time at home on the weekends, but I also want to get my workouts in. I'm trying to do track workouts on Saturdays and rest Sundays to give me more flexibility to spend time with the family.
